The public is hereby notified that a position on the Board of Trustees of the Brookhaven School District will become vacant effective December 31, 2025, due to Board Member Jason Childress fulfilling his term.
An election to fill this vacancy will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. The elected trustee will serve a five-year term.
The area to be represented includes all areas of the Brookhaven School District located outside the corporate limits of the city of Brookhaven, Mississippi.

Welcome back to another episode of the Panther Podcast! In this episode, Dr. Henderson sits down with Ariyana Graham. During Graham’s high school matriculation, she was blessed to obtain a total of 5 state championships (track and cross country), serve in JROTC, perform Friday night games as a cheerleader and work at Wendy’s all while maintaining the highest grade point average in her class that not only placed her in the academic hall of fame but also as the 2025 Valedictorian! In this clip, Graham reflects on how it felt to be named the 2025 Valedictorian. She has learned that hard work truly pays off and will continue to implement that same work ethic as she transitions to the next stage of her life.

This week, we’re giving you a double dose of new Panther Podcast episodes! This episode features Colt Piper. Dr. Henderson personally thinks that his name is the coolest name ever. In addition to having a cool name, Piper was also a 2025 Special Honors Graduate. He maintained a high-grade point average to receive this honor while being a student athlete (football and track) and taking special courses like Polymer Science. His love for Polymer Science led him to major in it this Fall at USM! Piper is ready to start the next chapter of his life knowing the Brookhaven School District faculty and staff has prepared him well.

We will utilize the online registration process for returning students and hold the annual “One-Stop-Shop” event to verify residency and complete registration for both new and returning students whose parents opt not to complete registration online.

Students will not be allowed to attend school until registration is complete.
