In the interest of enhancing existing security measures at designated Brookhaven School District sporting and activity events, a clear-bag policy has been implemented. Please click the link for more information.

Did you know? You or your business can receive a 1:1 Mississippi State Tax Credit by financially supporting Pre-K in Brookhaven through the Early Learning Collaborative! Donations must be received by December 31 of the relevant tax year, and there's still time to earn your credit for your 2024 filing! For more information about the tax credit and our Pre-K program, click the link above.

The Brookhaven School District reminds all community members that privately owned vehicles, other than authorized Brookhaven School District vehicles, are not permitted on any school district property.

This includes, but is not limited to:

Cars
Trucks
Vans
Motorcycles
ATVs
UTVs
Dirt bikes
Go-karts
Golf carts (unless specifically authorized by the district)
Any other unauthorized motorized vehicles

Unauthorized vehicles on school property create unnecessary safety hazards for students, staff, and visitors. They can also cause significant damage to athletic fields, playgrounds, sidewalks, landscaping, and other district facilities, resulting in costly repairs.

We ask all community members to help protect our schools by refraining from operating unauthorized vehicles on district property and by using only designated roadways and parking areas.

We will utilize the online registration process for returning students and hold the annual “One-Stop-Shop” event to verify residency and complete registration for both new and returning students whose parents opt not to complete registration online.

Students will not be allowed to attend school until registration is complete.

The Brookhaven School District extends its deepest condolences to the family of Trever Lee. The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) has redesigned its teacher recruitment website, TeachMS.org, that markets the teaching profession in Mississippi while breaking down the teacher preparation and licensure process into easy-to-understand steps.

Anyone interested in becoming a teacher is advised to explore the website to learn about how to get started. The website includes a quiz to help potential teachers find the licensure pathway that fits their background, an interactive salary schedule, and links to job listings in the new Mississippi Educator Career Continuum Archive (MECCA) Talent Portal. It also includes highlights about the benefits of teaching in Mississippi, including incentives for teachers and the state’s No. 2 national ranking for affordability.
