Dr. Myers

Panther Podcast

Episode 13 of the Brookhaven School District’s Panther Podcast is now LIVE! Episode 13 features host Dr. Henderson expressing his gratitude and appreciation for the Special Services Department with the Director, Dr. Brandy Myers who has been recognized as the 2023-2024 BSD Administrator of the Year! Like Henderson, Myers did not always know that education was her true calling. After experiencing the life of someone she loved with special needs in her personal life, she was inspired to pursue special education professionally and answer the calling. Myers attended many schools to complete the degrees leading up to her doctorate that she now exercises daily as the Director of Special Services. She loves her job, but she is a strong advocate of self-care. In her free time, Myers spends time with her family, animals and travelling wherever the road takes her! She also loves to read and has found cool ways to engage her 10-year-old son into doing the same that she shares with Dr. Henderson. They both share vital information concerning students of the district and things we should all do to never stop learning. Be sure to like, comment and subscribe to the Panther Podcast. #PantherPodcast #studentsuccess #students #specialservices #administratoroftheyear

About Us

The Brookhaven School District, where we are “Equipping Students Today for Tomorrow’s Opportunities”, strives year after year to complete a child’s education with the highest of standards. An education that begins with excellent facilities throughout its seven-school system. Many renovations at all of the schools have taken place over the years, including a $13 million renovation and expansion project at Brookhaven High School in 2001. The high school, originally built in 1938, is recognized by the Mississippi Department of Archives as true to its Art Deco design and houses one of the most advanced sound and lighting systems of any high school auditorium in Mississippi.
